Yes We Did

My rss-aggregator nearly exploded overnight with posts of joy, of gay bloggers holding back the tears, of hearts filled with pride and warmth. It's a new dawn, a new day and people are feeling good.

After the election party, the boyfriend and I went out for a drink, and found ourselves swarmed into a 3,000 strong party/march of students overflowing with excitement. The group kept chanting "USA" and "Yes We Can" and singing "Na Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na Hey--Goodbye" and banging on pots and pans. It was kind of wonderful and spontaneous and joyful and moving.

I'm not excited enough to run up and down the streets chanting. But I'm still feeling good.

I am surprised no one has mentioned Michelle's dress though. I mean, I understand that everyone is a big ball of delight at the moment, but her dress is fugly.
Here lies a most ridiculous raw youth, indulging himself in the literary graces that he once vowed to eschew. Now he just rocks out.
