NSFW AmazonFail

I'm sure that by now everyone is fully aware of the shitstorm this weekend regarding Amazon.com's de-ranking of books with gay and lesbian content; everything from Heather Has Two Mommies to Mayor of Castro Street: Life and Times of Harvey Milk to most poetry books written by gay men went unlisted due to their "adult themes." Theoretically, Amazon knows about the problem and is in the process of fixing the "glitch."

But all of this is old news for you guys, since this controversy has been mentioned on every single gay blog that's posted anything in the past 48 hours, and, more specifically and notably, on every twitter post written this weekend.

Most of my readers probably were able to guess that this story mostly gives me an excuse to add to my repertoire of posts where I list the books I've read recently by using bookjackets to cover up hot guy penises.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt

The Frog King by Adam Davies

Earthly Powers by Anthony Burgess

Food Matters by Mark Bittman

The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears by Dinaw Mengestu

Against the Day by Thomas Pynchon

As an additional note, yay for spring!
Here lies a most ridiculous raw youth, indulging himself in the literary graces that he once vowed to eschew. Now he just rocks out.
